So the cops show up to investigate a minor crash. And then reroute that into "we need to search your vehicle"? Definitely sounds illegal. They cannot search his vehicle unless they pulled him over beforehand. That's like showing up at a 10 car pileup, and deciding to check out the wreck survivor or survivor's cars for drug paraphernalia. Unbelievable.
