NYPD enters into subway-stings to catch thieves

So I had to hear on one of the lesser news channels (not major network news), that the NYPD has apparently entered into a sting operation idea on New York City subways. Where they pose undercover to catch young people who are robbing other young people and people in general of their IPODS, IPhones, MP3's, and other devices. I think this COULD work? But I also think it's a recipe for disaster. And more "accidental" shootings. Cops and young people just don't seem to click these days. And all it's gonna take is for one situation to get agitated or overblown before some innocent kid gets shot for "resembling" a suspect.
