Police investigating possible sexual assault at York U (Canada)

One man was taken into custody after an alleged sex assault at a York University campus residence.

Police and Toronto EMS were called to the north Toronto campus early morning on Friday following reports of the sex assault.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at around 3 a.m.

Police say the victim, an 18-year-old student, and the suspect are known to each other and the alleged assault is still under investigation.

Sex assaults have been widely reported on the York University campus in recent months.

In July, a man was arrested after two women reported an intruder creeping into their bedrooms overnight.

In one of the incidents, police say a woman was sexually assaulted.

Five women stepped forward during the summer to police after claiming they were groped on campus.



Seems like York U is becoming a breeding ground for pervs. Perhaps an increase in campus security and more personal safety classes for the female students are in order.
