    His emphasis on community-based policing and crackdowns on excessive use of force brought murders down to just 297 in 2011, the lowest they've been in more than 40 years, according to KABC-TV in Los Angeles

    Only 297 murders... this is why I don't live in LA. Also - what was the force doing that makes this number look good? Were they murdering people like some real life GTA?
