    This is a good thing. That community needs to attempt to start over and they just dragged out that investigation to such an extent that you didn't know who to trust anymore.

    I don't see how the police chief could stay in his position. His department acted as judge and jury in the Trayvon Martin shooting.
    I imagine Civil Rights violations are piling up in the wake of this fiasco, and he may be facing incarceration.

    I doubt if he is facing any charges simply for the fact that he is now a former cop. They don't just bring up charges against each other randomly. The city of Sanford feels like his punishment is losing his job and they are correct, the man does need a job. However, they have let it be known that his actions were very much in violation of their expectations, but they aren't going through another chapter of scrutiny by trying to bring charges against him.
